The Truman Show - Scene Analysis

In this scene, there are lots of mid shots and as the action rises there are more close ups. The shots The scenes that stood out were when she was like advertising the Mococoa where Truman was confused who she was talking too. Also, when she grabbed the dice, slice, and peeler thing and shielding it in front of her and then when Truman took it from her it was a really intense scene.

This scene is driven by dialogue because what Merrill does makes Truman get confused and react because he knows there is something weird going on. The power gets bigger as the scene goes on. The scene where Truman says, "are you going to dice me, slice me, or peel me." That is where there is the most power because it's intense and there is a lot happening there.

In the beginning of the scene there isn't music but, when there is music it is kind of like when someone is finds something freaky. I don't really know how to explain the music it is easier to know what it is by listening to it. In the scene, Truman knows something is weird when it seems like Merrill is advertising the Mococoa and he has no clue who she is talking to. When she says, "Do Something!" He knows something is up because there is no one there that could see that happen.

In this scene, Truman gets mad because he has noticed weird things that have been happening and he has been feeling pressured by it. When she acts weird like what has been going on he just wants to know what is happening and gets mad because he wants to know why everything is going weird. The relationship between Truman and Merrill is complicated because he thinks that Merrill doesn't even want to put up with Truman.

I choose this scene because it was interesting. We know that his life is a tv show and when he starts figuring out I want to know if he does. At this moment, it is really suspenseful and you want to see what happens and if Truman finds out the truth about his life. It is also funny because Merrill is kind of advertising the Mococoa in the scene.
